What is a typical session like?
In session I guide my clients on their journey to connect deeply to their body, disrupt old patterns and beliefs, build healthy relationships, and step into their power as the most authentic version of themselves. I will introduce somatic methods such as relationship skill building exercises, visualization, ritual, meditation, and breath work. The methods used will depend on your personal goals and mutual consent always. I am vulnerable and human with my clients, I show up as my authentic self and you are invited to do the same.
is this different from therapy?
Somatic sessions are very different from talk therapy. Firstly, this work is body focussed rather than solely in the logical mind. We don’t just talk in circles about feelings and intimacy, we slow down to feel what’s happening inside us and experience it together. I share my own feelings, experiences, and humanness with my clients. We learn to feel emotions in our bodies, explore with the senses, move and share energy, and co-regulate. We practice new skills together in order to build new neural pathways, effectively disrupting old patterns and responses that no longer serve you and creating new ones.
